Background[]

With the vast territories of Russia there was a need seen for fast tanks. In 1931, two Christie M-1931 (T-3) tanks

were purchased from the United States. The Kharkov "Comintern" factory was to build prototypes based on the Christies. On May 23, 1931, the Revolutionary Military Council of the USSR authorized mass production of the tank that was designated the BT-2.

The BTs were to be used in the mechanized, armored, and cavalry units. They were to advance into the enemy's rear to break supply lines and disrupt communications. They were lightly armoured, but reasonably well-armed for their time, and had much better mobility than world's contemporary tank designs. The BT tanks were known by the nickname Betka from the acronym, or its diminutive Betushka. The direct successor of the BT tanks would be the famous T-34 medium tank, introduced in 1940, which would replace all of the Soviet fast tanks, infantry tanks, and medium tanks in service.

Strength/Weakness[]

With armour even thinner and only 50 hit points more then that found on the MS-1 the BT-2 is built for speed, maxing out at around 60 Km/h fully researched. Even though the BT-2 can pack a deadly punch to other low tier tanks with it's 45mm 20K gun the extremely light armour really is the denominating factor in how the tank should be deployed and quite honestly it will fare ill against most opponents if taken into a static slug contest.

Suggestion[]

Deploy cautiously until fully upgraded at which point it will fill the role of a rapid scout with excellence. Used correctly and in conjunction with friendly artillery it can act as forward observer and locate enemy artillery early in the game. Survivability is low but if the trade is one or more dead enemy artillery it is a good trade for the team.

Side Note[]

Upgrade Suspension and Engine first to gain mobility over firepower.
